Description (eng)
This bachelor thesis deals with the perception of single mothers and their children by welfare and educational institutions during the years 1946 to 1971. In particular, the cooperation between these two institutions will be examined. In addition, emphasis is placed on the extent to which the two occupational groups have influenced each other and adopted assumptions from each other. The main sources for this bachelor thesis were the “pupil files” of the BH St. Pölten. These were analysed using “open coding”. The results of the work show that the mutual influence of the occupational groups is reflected and manifested in the files. In addition, standards of the time play a central role in the documented records.
