Description (eng)
Psychosocial care plays a crucial role in promoting mental health, preventing psychological problems, and supporting individuals in various life situations. It makes a significant contribution to promoting public health by taking individual needs into account and specifically intervening in acute crisis situations, facilitating access and intervening early in crisis situations. Social work plays an important role in interdisciplinary settings within the field of psychosocial care, contributing to understanding the holistic needs of individuals, enhancing their quality of life, coping with psychosocial stressors, and ensuring comprehensive support. This research project examined the aspects of psychosocial crisis care and its significance in acute crisis situations, as well as analyzed the corresponding service structures in asylum reception centers. It investigated which support services from which support systems or centers were effective. Additionally, it explored the perspectives of Afghan migrants regarding crises and the impacts of their immigration history on psychological crises. Furthermore, the importance of expanding assistance offerings in the field of social work and discussing the role of social work as a profession were also addressed. The qualitative research design was used for the methodological approach. To collect data, six interviews took place with Afghan migrants. The analysis was carried out using grounded theory. The guided interviews that were previously transcribed were the basis for this. Based on the results of the literature analysis and empirical investigation, it is emphasized that immigration experiences have a major influence on psychosocial crises. Factors such as language, asylum procedures, living conditions in accommodations, and the absence of a familiar community in the destination country exacerbate these psychosocial crises. Challenges in establishing support structures, coping strategies in the native language, and the role of age in integration and accessing support services were also evident.
