Die Arbeit mit Gewalttätern in der Bewährungshilfe geschieht auf Basis von drei, im Qualitätshandbuch des Vereines NEUSTART vorgegebenen, Methoden: Einzelfallhilfe, Gruppenarbeit nach TZI und Anti-Gewalt-Training. Obwohl Gruppenarbeit und Anti-Gewalt-Training an jedem Standort angeboten werden, werden sie an einigen aus bestimmten Gründen nicht durchgeführt. Im Literaturteil der Arbeit wird ein Überblick über die Definitionen von Aggression und Gewalt, Beschreibung von Gewalttätern, Bewährungshilfe und die Methode der Gruppenarbeit nach TZI gegeben. Der Forschungsteil der Diplomarbeit widmet sich den Fragen, inwiefern Gruppenarbeit im Speziellen für gewalttätige Klienten sinnvoll sein kann und welche Faktoren hemmend auf die Installation von Gruppenarbeit an einem bestimmten Standort wirken.

Probation work with violent criminals with special focus on groupwork at a specific location Probation work with violent criminals is based on three standardized methods marked out in the quality-standards of the organization NEUSTART: social casework, group work and anti-violence-training.Although group work and anti-violence-training are offered at every location, by certain reasons they cannot be implemented at some locations. The part of this theses dealing with literature gives a review on the various definitions of “violence” and “aggression”, a description of violent criminals, probation work and the method of “subject focused interaction”-group work. The research part of the theses is addressed to the questions how group work could be helpful for violent clients and which factors are inhibiting the installation of group work at a certain location.
