Mit dem Anstieg der Lebenserwartung in der Gesellschaft wird ein daran angepasstes Gesundheitsverständnis notwendig. Das Konzept des Community Nursing ist als Unterstützung für ältere Menschen und Personen im Prozess des Alterns zur Erhaltung und Förderung ihrer Gesundheit gedacht. Ansatz sowie Umsetzung von Community Nursing weisen Gemeinsamkeiten mit Sozialer Arbeit auf. Es wurden sieben qualitative, leitfadengestützte Interviews mit aktiven Nurses anhand der Methode der strukturgeleiteten Textanalyse ausgewertet, um Ähnlichkeiten mit und mögliches Unterstützungspotenzial durch Sozialarbeit zu erschließen. Gemeinsamkeiten bestehen bei den Methoden der Bedürfnis- und Ressourcenorientierung sowie Netzwerkarbeit. Sinnvoll erscheint Unterstützung von und potentielle Kooperation mit Sozialarbeit bei Verwahrlosung und bürokratischen Themen.

Due to the increase of life expectancy in society, an adaptation of the understanding of health will be necessary. The concept of community nursing is intended to help older adults/seniors and those in the process of aging to maintain and to support their health. Community nursing shows similarities with social work both in approach and in implementation. Seven qualitative guided interviews with active Community Nurses have been evaluated on the basis of structured text analysis to show similarities with and potential for support through social work. A number of common features are shared in the methods of need and resource orientation as well as in networking. While working on cases of self-neglect and dealing with bureaucratic issues, the support of and possible cooperation with social work seems reasonable.
