Wie Filmmusik synchron produziert wird

Synchronisation begleitet viele Produktionsschritte zur Herstellung der Musik von Video- und Kinoproduktionen. Ziel ist es, Bild Synchronität in Verbindung mit der Musik zu erreichen. Orchestrale Filmmusik kommt in vielen Kinoproduktionen zum Einsatz, wobei die Musik speziell auf die Szenen des Films abgestimmt wird. Vor allem komponieren die Komponisten die Musik für viele Filmszenen bildsynchron zum Film. Dadurch ist eine technische Synchronisation unumgänglich. Gerade bei orchestraler Filmmusik, welche live von einem Orchester eingespielt wird, ist dies mit einem großen Aufwand in der Synchronisation verbunden. Aber auch orchestrale Produktionen im Tonstudio mit virtuellen Sounds (= abgespeicherte Sounds im Computer) sind davon betroffen und erfordern viel technisches Knowhow von den Komponisten, Tontechnikern und Musikern. Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit der technischen Synchronisation von orchestraler Filmmusik im Produktionszyklus, kann sinngemäß aber auch für andere MusikGenres angewendet werden. Diese Masterthesis stützt sich auf fachliche Expertisen und befasst sich mit den technischen Lösungen, die für die Synchronisation von Musikproduktionen in Verbindung mit Video- und Filmproduktionen relevant sind. Anhand von Experteninterviews sollen die verschiedenen Herangehensweisen aufgezeigt werden. Gibt es verschiedene Möglichkeiten, die Bild Synchronität zum Ton herzustellen? Welche Lösungsansätze gibt es dafür und inwieweit gab es in den letzten Jahren technische Veränderungen durch die computerbasierte Produktionsweise von Filmmusik? Durch Interviews mit Komponisten und Online-Recherchen über technische Gerätschaften der Musik- und Filmindustrie sollen Lösungen und Produktionsweisen aufgezeigt werden. Diese Masterthesis soll zu einem besseren Verständnis des Themas Synchronisation für Audio- und Videoproduktionen im Zusammenhang mit Filmmusik führen.

Synchronization accompanies many production stages in order to create the music of video and film productions. This involves the synchronization of the picture and the music. Orchestral film music is used in many film productions, where the music is specifically tailored to the scenes of the movie. Most of all, the composer composes the music for many film scenes in sync with the picture. This way, a technical synchronization is inevitable. Especially orchestral film music, which is played live, involves great synchronization effort. The same goes for orchestral productions in the recording studio with virtual sounds (= sounds stored on the computer). They require a lot of technical know-how for the composer, the sound engineer and the musicians. This paper explores the technical synchronization of orchestral film music in the production cycle but is also applicable to other music genres. This thesis is based on expert opinions and investigates the technical solutions that are relevant for the synchronization of music in connection with video and film productions. Based on additional interviews these different solutions should be established. Are there different ways to synchronize pictures and audio? What solution approaches exist and to what extent were there technical changes in recent years due to the computer-based production method of film music? Solutions and production methods will be shown through interviews with experts and online research of technical equipment of the music and film industry. This master thesis will also serve as a guide for a better understanding of the topic: synchronization.
